Revolution Church and Jay Bakker

Tuesday, April 17th, 2007

I don’t know how many of you all watch the Sundance Channel but back during winter break I went home to my parents house for the holidays and ran across a TV show called One Punk Under God. This short mini series on the life of Pastor Jay Bakker and Revolution Church has really got the Christian in me thinking. Since watching I have been rather moved and have tried to keep track of Jay’s messages. I am not quite sure how much I agree with his message as I have not investigated some of the details for myself. I can however say that I love his message of grace and feel his approach to Christianity should be highlighted. Now the best part of all of this is that in a few weeks Jay will be in San Francisco giving a message and I will most certainly be attending. If anyone is interested in going with me let me know. I have added it to my calendar to make things easy so feel free to check out details there…

Our Future With Adobe CS3

Friday, April 13th, 2007

So earlier this week I had the benefit of attending a Photoshop users conference at the Adobe headquarters in downtown San Jose. It was a fantastic little informational meeting that was structured around audience interest. I learned a tun of sweet little tricks for LightRoom like when you go to publish your photos to the web in a gallery you can press Shift+Ctrl+Alt+/ to allow you to modify a much wider selection of attributes for the gallery. I also learned a bunch of stuff from the soon to be released Adobe CS3. All of which are frankly just a bit to complicated to explain in blog form. There is also the issue of the contract I signed upon entering the building. However, by lets just pick a random day… lets say… maybe Sunday, or possibly some time next week, I am not sure I am just guessing. But maybe, just maybe, the whole contract issue wont be such a problem. I mean its really all up in the air but maybe. But I will give a word to tantalize you all, zoomify.

I will say this. CS3 is going to be a BIG step forward for the power user. Everything from cross integration to better design flow has been improved. Adobe has included some smaller nifty little tricks so have no fear everyone will have something to benefit from CS3. But just in case I haven’t hyped CS3 up enough yet. Let me say one last thing. CS3 is going to be a VERY, VERY, VERY, HUGE improvement over CS2. That is about it for today…

Short and Sweet

Wednesday, April 11th, 2007

I have been super busy lately and totally out of the blog loop. I promise to jump back in and will get to all the things I have promised in the past. For now a quick update on the recent going ons.

A while back I entered in a website design contest for the the photography department at SJSU. It now appears that I have won the contest and will be designing a web page for the university. I’m pretty stocked and me and my partner Mike are glad to have an extra $1000 in our pockets.

I have also just recently purchased my first airsoft gun, a Sig 552. It’s pretty sweet and expect to see pictures soon.

I have a tun more to say but am just to busy to say it all. However, this should draw me back into blogging again. Anywho… until next time…

Spring Break and The Daily Grind

Tuesday, April 3rd, 2007

I am back in San Jose from my five day stay in Fresno. I got a much needed dose of family and friends. I got more then enough rest and probably didn’t get enough done but what it was spring break and all. I did manage to be some what productive. I met with SugarHill, took some photos, and helped Jon study. We celebrated Schmidi’s birthday on Friday when I got back and I had some friends over on Saturday (which I really hope happens more because that was lots of fun). Spring Break officially ended on Sunday as my procrastination finally caught up with me. Monday was spent doing more work and today was largely a mad dash to finish my second DSGD 105 project (intermediate graphic design).

I am now sitting in my DSGD 105 class and enjoying the lovely feel of the daily grind. I really like the repetition and pattern school brings into my schedule. Of course it gets old sometimes but that seems rare for me. I should get back to paying attention to everyones projects though. So goodbye for now.
