“It must be ice,” said Phoenix Principal Investigator Peter Smith of the University of Arizona, Tucson. “These little clumps completely disappearing over the course of a few days, that is perfect evidence that it’s ice. There had been some question whether the bright material was salt. Salt can’t do that.”
This song comes from The Album Leaf’s, In A Safe Place LP. Every song on this album is probably worthy of mention in its own right but this one stands out. It’s full of beautiful melody and melodic crescendo. Enjoy…
These songs come from an album that is really better listened to as a whole. As such I threw in my two favorites. I really suggest you check this one out a little further because this is really just a snippet of Anathallo’s true amazingness. They are also on tour right now to boot.
Anberlin has a good three LP’s under their built as well as an decent B-Side compilation. During that time they have made some very solid music and today’s song of the day is no different. Off of their last LP, Cities, Anberlin’s A Whisper & A Clamour is everything you would expect from a refined energetic studio recording from a band of their caliber. Let me know what you think in the poll below and enjoy…

What formate should I use for the Song of the Day?
Here is a song from the very under rated band Steel Train. The first song off of their album Twilight Tales From the Prairies of the Sun titled Better Love is a fun and relaxing jam sure to put a smile on your face.
Also please let me know what you think in the poll below. You have the power to shape what Song of the Day becomes so speak up!

What formate should I use for the Song of the Day?
I have been looking for a long time on a way to better facilitate the Song of the Day. Youtubeand other video sites are useful but limited. A number of self upload sites have popped up recently like Muxtape that I contemplated using. I basically just needed a site that could host the audio files as my server space just can handle the number of audio files this will become over time. I have wanted to try Tumblr for a while now and but I like to host as much of my content as possible. While Tumblr isn’t out I am going to give imeem a shot. You can upload files and embed them where you want. We will see how this works and what the limits of their service is in time. But for now, it seems this maybe my best shot. Check it out, it seems pretty neat.

Without further ado, I give you the Song of the Day.
Update: After reading this:
You must not upload or present any media or content in which you do not have the appropriate rights to do so. You may be in violation of copyright laws if you do not have the appropriate rights to the media or content you upload or present on imeem. imeem will not tolerate known infringements or misbehavior by its users. It is imeem’s policy to terminate the accounts of known repeat infringers.
I don’t know how long my use of imeem will last. It seems like the service was set up to facilitate the sales of music online by allowing people to upload and explore but I don’t know. It’s all legal crap…
After a small mothers day break I’m back with a goody from Iron & Wine. Boy With A Coin is probably my favorite off of there most recent album The Shepherd’s Dog. Enjoy…

and I am going to throw this in to boot because its a super good live version of Boy With A Coin
I have a little double header coming at you here. I had a few problems with the blog yesterday but everything is fixed and ready to rock. So lets do this.
First, these guys are some personal friends of mine who make some amazing music. They are totally on the up-n-up so watch out. Signed to MySpace Records, Sherwood has a California sound everybody can love. Off their most recent album A Different Light this is, Song In My Head.
Second up in my Song of the Day: Double Header I have a classic. You probably never listened to this song in 1989 when it came out but when it was featured at the end of the movie Fight Club The Pixies’ - Where is My Mind blew up big. So big in fact that The Pixies re-released the album Surfer Rosa and sold more albums that year then they did in the previous nine years of its first release. It’s not surprising given the success of Fight Club and the fact that it is a great song.
